We wrapped up another fantastic year with the Camera Club, marked by summer evening walks, weekly photographic themes, a lovely meal out to celebrate and a zoom catch up.

Golden Hour at Hitchin Lavender Fields
Our first themed outing focused on Golden Hour, and we headed to the Hitchin Lavender fields. While the lavender had mostly gone over for the season, the sunflowers were just beginning to bloom, adding a vibrant touch to the landscape. It turned out to be a beautiful evening, topped off with a stunning sunset over the car park — proving that great photo opportunities can appear in the most unexpected places!

Textures in Hitchin
For our second week, the theme was Textures, and we explored Hitchin Town Centre in search of interesting surfaces, patterns, and details to capture.
It was a very overcast evening, which gave a soft, moody light—perfect for highlighting architectural textures and street details. As the light faded and it got too dark for photography, we rounded off the evening with a relaxed drink at a local bar, making the most of the social side of the club too.
Capturing Movement on Therfield Heath
In our third week, the theme was Movement, and we headed out to Therfield Heath for a chance to capture motion in the landscape.
We were treated to a stunning sunset, with the golden light spilling across the heath. The grasses seemed to glow, swaying gently in the breeze—almost as if they were on fire with light. It was one of those evenings where everything came together: movement, light, and atmosphere—a real photographer’s dream.
Urban Summer and End-of-Year Meal
For our final themed week, the focus was Urban Summer, and instead of a photo walk, we marked the end of another great Camera Club year with a lovely meal at The Grape Vine in Letchworth.
It was a relaxed evening, full of good food, great company, and plenty of photography chat. A perfect way to celebrate the end of the Club year.

Sharing Our Work
The following week, we gathered online for a Zoom meeting to share and discuss our photos from each of the themed evenings. It was a fantastic opportunity to see everyone’s different interpretations. As always, the variety and quality of images were inspiring!

.....And finally
To top it all off, one of our members, Sandra, took the Camera Club spirit on holiday, proudly sporting the new club T-shirt while away! We look forward to seeing where the T-shirt travels next!
